Procedure for the puja-

Place a red piece of cloth on the puja chowki. Cleanse the idols and pooja sthal by sprinkling some water on it and chanting pavitrikaran mantra. Decorate your mandir and make embellish the idol for Lord Krishna with new clothes. Place the idol or picture on the altar and light incense sticks.

Do tilak of the idol with roli, ashwagandha sandalwood or kumkum and provide offerings of clothes, ornaments and panchamrit. Offer mishri, gangajal and flowers to Lord Krishna in the end. Conclude by chanting this mantra 108 times-

“ooma Devaaki Sudhaa Goovindaa Vaasudevaa Jaagaath Paathe Dehimaey Thaanaayaama Krishnaa Thwaamaaahaama Saaraanaama Kaadhaahaaaa Devaa Devaa Jaagaannaathaa Goothraa Vridhi Kaaraap Praabhoo Dehimaey Thaanaayaama Sheegraama aayushmaaandhaama Yaashaashreenaama”

This mantra is one of the most powerful ones to help you fulfill your desire of a healthy baby boy, as innocent as Lord Krishna himself. Apart from the pooja, you should also pray to Lord Krishna daily and ask him to fulfill your desire. You can recite the mantra given below to please4 the lord:

PUJA FOR BABY

The Shasthi pooja is perhaps the most powerful pooja to help a woman have a baby. If you desire a baby, then perform this puja on the sixth day of Krishnapaksha, the day of shahsti. It is the dark fortnight of the month, after six days of purnima. The main aspect of this shasti puja is the fast or vrat that is observed on this day.

Start the day by waking up early in the morning and have a purifying bath with all members of the family. Clean the pooja room and the altar and place a picture or idol of Lord Ganesha and Lord Subramaniyam. Do not consume anything after sunrise. Embellish the idols or pictures with sandal paste, turmeric powder and vermilion and light incense sticks.

It would be ideal if you perform milk abhishek on the idol of lord Subramanya. You can also offer coconut water, honey, rose water or panchamrit to the idols. In the end of puja, conclude by waving the holy kapoor. This vrat can be continued for six shahsthis and is believed to give immediate results.

PUJA FOR CONCEIVING BABY

It is believed that if a married woman prays to Lord Krishna for a baby and performs this puja, she would soon be blessed by a baby.

The duration is of two days and you would need 3 priests to perform the puja.

PUJA FOR HAVING BABY

The following puja is extremely powerful in granting your wish to have a baby, provided you perform it with utmost devotion and faith.

  • Puja kid tail
  • Halide
  • Kokum
  • Flowers
  • Ghee and oil lamp
  • Incense sticks
  • Camphor
  • Fruits
  • Prasad
  • Coconut
  • Betel leaves

This puja is for the son of lord Shiva and goddess parvati and it should be performed on the sixth day of the month of Krishnapaksha. Wake up at dawn on the day of puja and cleanse yourself. Then clean your home and mandir and place the puja ki chowki and idols in the mandir. Decorate the photo or idols with haldi, kumkum, chandan and flowers. Light incense sticks and lamps. Chant the following mantra-

“Om Vali Devasena Samedha Shri Subramanya Swaamine Namah Aavaahayaami”

After that, bathe the idol with a mixture of coconut water, honey milk, curd, ghee and sugar. Offer the Prasad and conclude the puja with an aarti.

  • Things to remember about doing this puja
  1. If you start this puja once, you will have to do it for a period of 6 to 12 years. It is not a onetime puja.
  2. You cannot eat non vegetarian food during this course of time
  3. It’s a six day fast
  4. You can only eat one meal and that too at the end of the day.
  5. You cannot eat out during the course of this puja.
